I am currently working with a highly reputable retail organisation who are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant in the Burnley area which is situated near Blackburn and Accrington. This is an exciting role working for a fantastic company who are looking for someone to join them on their journey. This is a full-time permanent position where you will report directly into the Financial Controller.
Key responsibilities within this role would be:
- Enter and code financial transactions appropriately.
- Process payments as well as documents like overheads invoices, expense claims.
- Reconciling Purchase Ledger Statements.
- Issue manual invoices.
- Follow up stock returns, supplier claims and chasing Credit Notes.
- Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees.
- Chasing branches for weekly timesheets.
- Cash counting and preparing pay-in slips.
- Updating spreadsheets for daily cash received from various branches.
- Daily cash reconciliation.
- Managing petty cash transactions.
- Answering phone calls.
- Covering holidays and ad-hoc work.
What we are looking for?
- Strong excel skills
- 2-3 years' experience within a similar role
- High attention to detail
- Willing to learn and develop new skills
- Sage Payroll experience is desirable
