Job description

Patient/Customer Service To carry out duties as assigned involving patient care and welfare, assisting the Nuclear Medicine team as appropriate. To collect patients from wards and return them following their examination as appropriate To ensure the maintainence of patient confidentiality To assist with blood sampling and preparation of patient samples for laboratory assessment To perform basic Nuclear Medicine procedures where competent and able to do so General Duties To take part in contamination monitoring of all areas. Assist in the implementation and development of systems, including the ISO quality control, and work practices to measure and achieve high standards of service quality. To perform routine Nuclear Medicine procedures such as imaging, blood sampling and laboratory processing. Ensure that stock levels are monitored and maintained, and that all documentation relating to the ordering and receipt of Radiopharmaceuticals, other materials, especially consumables and services are complete and accurate. To adhere to Local Rules, Ionising Radiation Regulations and IR(ME)R. To take an active part in monthly Health and Safety Audits To keep all mandatory training up to date. To participate in rotation between LRI, LGH and Glenfield hospitals Normal working hours are between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, but some flexibility is required. To take part in camera/therapy room preparation and decontamination. To assist in the Fdispensing of radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic imaging. Follow established procedures to ensure the secure storage, use and handover of all radioactive sources within the Trust and during transit and report to managers any issues that may compromise your ability to do this
