HU12 Area of Hull

Mon - Fri 08.00 - 17.00

£40k to £50k DOE

The successful candidate will become an integral part of the sites management team, driving forward our group-wide ‘Second Nature’ strategy whilst managing all Environmental incidents and complaints, ensuring we continue to be legally compliant with all environmental legislation.

Main duties include (but not limited to):

• First contact on site for any environmental incidents/ complaints and ensuring all incidents /complaints are fully investigated and associated forms filled out and reported to group.
• Ensure maintenance of the sites EMS and EnMS to ISO140001 and ISO50001 standards.
• Liaise with all departments and levels of the business for continuous improvement in terms of utilities usage.
• ‘Bottom up’ approach and upskilling workforce.
• All environmental/sustainability data submitted to group monthly.
• Ensuring all Environmental legislation is being adhered to.
• Drive decarbonisation projects in line with group targets.
• Attend senior weekly KPI meeting to discuss environmental performance.
• Working with the Group Environmental Manager for legal compliance, audits, stakeholder visits etc.
• Undertaking internal inspections to ensure the site is fully compliant and raise any issues found.

Requirements, experience and person specification

• Knowledge and experience in ISO14001 and ISO50001
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience in liaising with external stakeholders (EA/ Water authority)
• Environmental legislation knowledge.
• IEMA membership (Associate or above).
• Project management (Advantageous)
• Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (advantageous)
• Degree in environmental science/sustainability (Advantageous)
