Safran Landing Systems in Gloucester is offering the challenging, but exciting opportunity to join our Quality team on a Advanced Apprenticeship Programme. You will be reporting to the Supplier Quality Manager.

What will I be doing?

In this role you will learn to:

Evaluate, select and ensure ongoing compliance and approval of suppliers for all external Special Processes. Assess, Qualify and, audit new and existing Suppliers for conformance to Special Process Specifications.

You will approve Supplier Manufacturing Methods & Critical Operation sheets relating to Special Processes.

You will participate in problem solving workshops to ensure effective identification of root cause using 8d methodology.

You will ensure timely closure of effective Corrective Actions and ensure smooth transition of New Product Introduction for either new designs or for parts transferring from one Site to another.

As a valued member of the team, your knowledge and skills will be utilised to assist our continuous improvement programme, thereby ensuring that our product continues to be right first time.

The programme follows a structured Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering – Technical Support Technician.

This qualification is based on national occupational standards requiring you to demonstrate both engineering skills and knowledge, with the ability to organise work and identify and prevent problems.

In the first year you will spend time at a private local engineering training provider where the relevant qualification units will be delivered and assessed. As part of your apprenticeship you will complete:
• Practical training
• A technical certificate taking a Technical Support will assist you with the ‘theory' part of your apprenticeship.
• A Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering – Technical Support Technician will allow you to further your study selecting units relating to your role.

This will enable you to develop an excellent foundation in Engineering. You will also be provided with job specific training relating to auditing standards and special processes.

You will be a motivated, hard-working individual with excellent planning and organisational skills. The ability to effectively work as part of a team and on your own will be key to your success.

Educational Requirements

Successful candidates will need to have achieved, or expect to achieve at least 5 GCSE's at grade C or above to include Maths, English, Science and a technology.

Time shared between the Safran Landing Systems Services site and the Training Providers site, both located in Gloucester
