WSP Middle East is currently seeking to recruit an experienced Consultant - Energy Efficiency and Management with a background in consulting with clients in various parts of their value chain across Energy and Water Efficiency, Energy Demand Side Management, Energy Efficiency Strategies, roadmaps, action plans and transition to net zero.
Your new role, what's involved?
- Effectively manage entire consulting projects or significant workstreams within a larger project, under the direction of the Energy Advisory Manager.
- Consult clients in various parts of their value chain across Energy and Water Efficiency, Energy Demand Side Management, Energy Efficiency Strategies, roadmaps, action plans and transition to net zero.
- Conduct comprehensive ASHRAE Level I, II and III audits to identify energy-saving opportunities in commercial and industrial settings for our clients.
- Conduct detailed feasibility studies to assess the economic viability of various energy and water efficiency measures, perform cost and benefit analysis and advice on prioritization of energy and water efficiency measures to the clients aligned with their organizational goals and market trends.
- Evaluate the energy performance and recommend optimization strategies for various industrial processes, especially in cement, oil and gas, and petrochemicals for our clients.
- Advice on tailored strategies to enhance energy and water efficiency and reduce operational costs for our clients.
- Effectively manage entire consulting projects or significant workstreams within a larger project, under the direction of the project director.
- Integrate strategies for water efficiency within the overall energy management plans.
- Advise the clients on Energy service performance contracting services and prepare the Scope of work and tender documents in line with the industry's best practices.
- Develop the Measurement and Verification (M&V) plans and apply standard M&V protocols to assess the effectiveness of implemented energy-saving measures.
- Develop energy performance metrics, and energy baselines and identify the cost savings potential for industrial and commercial clients.
- Design and implement energy management systems compliant with ISO 50001 standards.
- Evaluate and optimize wastewater treatment processes for wastewater treatment facilities.
- Coordinate and assist in arranging stakeholder workshops, campaigns, and events for respective clients on DSM and energy efficiency projects.
- Provide support in other areas related to climate-energy nexus for different projects.
- Develop proposals that correspond to client needs and which appropriately consider commercial and technical inputs/risks.
- Assist the Energy Advisory Lead in identifying new service opportunities and offerings.
- Support and facilitate a WSP culture of customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and coach junior staff and team members.
- Assist in the Energy Advisory team training to develop fellow team members' skills and expertise.
- Manage multiple projects and project teams concurrently.
- Lead and manage client meetings and presentations.
- Create, manage, and review client deliverables and reports with the support of fellow team members.
- Maintains Health and Safety policy and standards.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Environmental Engineering.
- Holding one of the following certificates: CEM, CEA, CMVP or BEAP (Mandatory).
- Holding a certificate in ISO 50001 EnMS is a plus.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in energy efficiency assessments, energy audits and energy efficiency measures implementation in commercial and industrial sectors.
- Proficient in commercial and industrial energy efficiency assessments and energy systems optimization.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE level I, II and III energy auditing standards and guidelines.
- Hands-on experience in conducting the ASHRAE Levels Energy Audits and developing the reports including conducting of cost and benefit analysis of the energy efficiency measures and GHG accounting.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency and management strategies, including (Electrical, HVAC, water efficiency and wastewater treatment).
- Knowledge of industrial processes and optimization techniques in sectors like cement, oil and gas, and petrochemicals to enhance energy efficiency.
- Understanding of the ISO 50001 Energy Management guidelines and certification requirements.
- Understanding of the IPMVP-established standards and protocols used worldwide for the performance measurement and verification (M&V) of energy and water-saving projects.
- Strong understanding of the market trends and emerging technologies for achieving energy and water efficiency
- Understanding of the net-zero pathways, clean energy transition strategies, implementation plans, roadmaps, and clean energy investments.
- Demonstrated ability to work in challenging and dynamic environments, delivering innovative solutions.
