SRUC is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.
Within SAC Consulting, the Environment Team supports sustainable land management, food production, and land stewardship and reinstatement; primarily in Scotland but with a remit to expand into the rest of the UK and beyond. Our purpose is to share knowledge, lead and bring to market practical measures that allow food processors, land managers, and other clients to thrive without detriment to our planet.
We are diverse, both in the people we have and what we do. Our expertise in environment and sustainability ranges from strategies to minimise greenhouse gas emissions to land remediation; from lifecycle assessments of products and supply chains to designing waste and water management solutions.
As a geospatial consultant, you will work in a multi-disciplinary team, collecting and interpreting data to inform carbon management and natural capital solutions. With a varied portfolio of work, you will make a significant contribution to our geospatial services, managing our geospatial data and supporting client needs whether they be SMEs, third/public sector, or corporate/multinational companies.
You will provide insights from raw datasets (e.g. geospatial data analytics, remote sensing, UAV flight data) and will research and verify data to produce graphic outputs. This will include providing data modelling, visualisation, and presentation of data to clients. It will also include the creation and delivery of data management for GIS databases, data standards and metadata, data reporting, data storage and troubleshooting.
The ideal candidate will be adaptable and motivated to learn across multiple sectors and workstreams. Your skills mean you may also play a role in business development and winning new work. This could be directly though seeking new clients or supporting others with technical input to bids, tenders, and quotes.
You should be educated to SCQF Level 10 and above to be considered for this role.

• Enhanced holidays
• Enhanced pension contributions (5% employee and 10% employer)
