Job description
We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated Employment Outreach Worker to join our Community Wellbeing Service supporting people who are economically inactive through the Employment and Skills Outreach Hub project supported by the UK Shared Prosperity funding.
The post will involve providing 1:1 support for people who are economically inactive to help them achieve their employment and skills aspirations. The Project Worker will cover the Cotswold District which will include Cirencester, Tetbury and Moreton-In-Marsh and surrounding villages. The project will provide community-based support to enable people to move closer to or into education, employment, work experience, training or voluntary work. This includes supporting people through vocational profiling, action planning, holistic, wraparound support and job searching.
The role will suit someone who is enthusiastic and committed to helping people identify and reach goals specifically in relation to education, training, work experience and employment. You will need a good understanding of the challenges people face and the barriers that prevent them from accessing the job market. You will need to be able to work as part of a team and use your own initiative being resourceful and adaptable with good administration and IT skills.
The Churn Project is an independent charity working for the past 23 years in Cirencester and the surrounding villages. In 2022/23, we supported over 1300 people to reduce isolation and loneliness, improve wellbeing, learn new skills, and feel part of their community. Our vision is that all people should be included, involved and invested in their community, feel supported and valued and given the opportunity to achieve their potential.
THE ROLE
As an employment and skills hub outreach worker, you will be primarily responsible for the supporting people individually who are referred to the employment hub who will meet the criteria for economically inactive. You will provide 1:1 support to help them achieve identified outcomes regarding job searching, training, work experience, volunteering and education. This includes supporting people with vocational profiling, action planning and wraparound support. You will use a strengths-based approach to ensure people feel valued, connected, and included.

Conditions of Employment
• 33 days annual leave (FTE) per year including public holidays
• 30 hours per week
• Monday to Thursday with occasional evening and weekend events. Working pattern to be discussed at interview.
• 6-month probation period
