We are currently looking to recruit a Group Manager on a permanent contract who will be responsible for leading and developing our Looked After Children and Care Leaving Service. These areas were recently judged as ‘Good’ in the last ILACS Ofsted Inspection and we are continuing on our ambitious journey to outstanding.
You will be responsible for building effective professional relationships with colleagues across the council and with partners in the City. You will need to be consistent and confident in managing performance and ensuring quality of practice is of a high standard.
You can expect to join a welcoming service, where expectations are high and where you will receive support and supervision to develop a culture and environment were practice can flourish, innovate and services to children, young people and foster carers are of a high standard. As a member of the operational leadership team you will be instrumental in the development and planning of services. You will be fully committed to the local vision for social work and be able to demonstrate effective leadership experience within a social work context and furthering our ambitions for improving children’s outcomes. You will be required to work at a strategic level within a local setting and to contribute to both regional and national developments.
You must be a qualified Social Worker and registered with the Social Work England. It is critical that you are an experienced manager and have extensive social work experience to support key decision makers in the system and to ensure that all practice is informed by sound assessment and judgement. You may be at a point in your career where you are looking to step up to a more senior role- we can support you to make this step!
