Residential Childcare Support Worker
Permanent, Full time Contract

Salary £30,559 per annum (inclusive of sleeps), rising to £31,087 on completion of a successful probation period

We have exciting opportunities at Sunlight Children’s Care Ltd to work as Children’s Residential Childcare Support Worker, working with young people between the ages of 8 -18. Our positions are open to inexperienced and experienced candidates. Full comprehensive training is provided for those new to childcare.

Working on a 3 week-rolling rota basis, based on 56.4 hours per week(sleeps included), working pattern is 1 day on, 2 days off. Sleep shifts are included in the annual salary and payment of which is guaranteed when on annual leave.

Sunlight Children’s Care is a family run residential childcare providers, both offer a variety of residential placements to young people between the ages of 8 – 18 and who may display emotional and challenging behaviours. The young people placed within our services have often experienced significant adversity and trauma in their young lives and may no longer able to reside within their familial / foster home.

Our aim is to create a safe and sustainable nurturing environment for our young people and a developmental and rewarding workplace for our care team. We ensure our team(s) adhere to Ofsted standards and guidelines referencing the Children’s Act and Children’s Care Standards, Ofsted is the looked after children’s regulatory body.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for working with young people and really want to make a difference to their lives. You will be a positive role model for the young people and encourage them to develop meaningful relationships and attachments, whilst contributing to their development, enabling them to reach their full potential.

You may be completing your Level 3 diploma in Children’s and Young People or have experience in childcare or youth setting at a Residential Childcare Support Worker level and an understanding of the challenges young people and carers face within a residential care setting.

A Full UK driving licence is required.
