Location: South Yorkshire, 3 days per week in the office

Contract: Interim, ongoing

Spencer Clarke Group have an opportunity for a Head of Catering & Facilities Services to join our client, a local authority in South Yorkshire. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and developing provisions across the authority, including Building Cleaning, Caretaking, School Catering, and School Crossing Patrols. As a key leader, you will oversee in-house provisions and Traded Services, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and customer-responsive operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide effective oversight of Catering & Facilities Services, aligning operations with strategic objectives.
• Manage and monitor budgets, setting financial targets, and ensuring accurate management data for informed decision-making.
• Monitor, evaluate, and implement government legislation, HSE information, and industry changes to ensure compliance and uphold the Council's reputation.
• Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders and partners, fostering positive relationships.
• Utilize objective setting and performance management to support and enhance the performance of the team.
• Navigate complex and competing priorities, linking strategic objectives to those of the Council, partners, and Traded Services.
• Ensure strict observance of health and safety regulations within the service.

Shortlisting Criteria

• Substantial and successful direct management experience in Catering and Facilities Management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage people effectively within a customer-focused service delivery environment.
• Successful track record of communicating and working collaboratively with stakeholders and partners.
• Experience in performance management and quality assurance processes in service delivery.
• Ability to work within complex and competing priorities, aligning activities with strategic objectives.
• Proven experience in managing budgets, setting financial targets, and forecasting.
