Your responsibilities
- Responsible for leading the UK Lifecycle Services Sales Team, related to ABB’s Installed Base of Automation Systems.
- In addition to leading the team, will also be responsible for a portfolio of customers, to identify / create and develop sales opportunities related to existing Automation Installed Base, including Annual Service Contracts, Small Projects and Modifications, Spares and System Upgrades.
- Supports team members in delivering sales targets for the Lifecycle Ser-vices portfolio, and ensures they are achieved with a structured follow-up process across the Process Automation Energy Industries (PAEN) business guidelines and tools.
- Implements Lifecycle Service strategy in current and future market seg-ments including (but not limited to) Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Power Generation, Oil and Gas, Offshore Wind, CCUS and Hydrogen.
- Builds long term customer relationships and manages resolution to specific customer needs and issues.
- Identifies risks, prepares Risk Review presentations for management ap-proval, ensures offers are submitted on time with utmost care and attention (in collaboration with Bid Management, Technical Advisory, Operations and Commercial Management functions).
- Works closely with the Lifecycle Services Portfolio Managers (not part of re-porting line), to develop, maintain and implement the Sales Strategy for Lifecycle Services, including ensuring appropriate account and opportunity ownership.
- Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of full prod-uct/systems/ services offering, and align to provide a solution.
- Communicates details in accordance with ABB offering and strategy (deliv-ery time, payments, and general terms and conditions).
- Identifies and drives the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensures knowhow sharing and cross-collaboration.
- Ensures appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers, including prices and trading conditions.
- Interfaces daily with the CRM (Salesforce) to capture (and update status of) opportunities identified and creates visit reports reflecting nature of cus-tomer engagements. Actively manages the Lifecycle Services sales funnel, for current and subsequent years.
- May partake in relevant campaigns, trade fairs, exhibitions and conferences, or be involved with industry bodies.
Your background
- Degree qualified in Engineering (Automation preferred, but not compulso-ry).
- Control systems knowledge and min 5 years sales experience in selling Au-tomation Lifecycle Service offerings in the high hazard industries.
- Line management experience.
- Teamwork and customer-oriented profile with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good command of English.
- Willingness to travel, and to spend some overnight trips away.
- Commercial and result-oriented attitude with good communication skills.
- Experience of working in one or more of the industries and sub industries i.e. Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Power Generation, Oil and Gas, Offshore Wind, CCUS and Hydrogen.
- Knowledge of ABB’s Automation Solutions desirable but not a necessity
- Location flexible, but visits to offices in Aberdeen, St Neots (Cambridge-shire) and Daresbury (Cheshire) to be expected.
