Job description

Our client is a specialised heating contractor who is currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their expanding service department to provide gas maintenance and servicing across several contracts throughout Central Scotland (odd travel to the north of Scotland or as far down as Carlisle).

Employed in a mobile role, you will be tasked with carrying out service, repair and maintenance of commercial and industrial boiler plant, oil/ steam burners and ancillary equipment including pumps, valves and associated controls on a customer base that can range from commercial and industrial sites to public sector contracts among many others.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Carrying out all planned preventative and reactive maintenance on gas /oil burners and control systems for steam & hot water boilers within commercial/industrial premises- ensuring all works are carried out within agreed SLA’s.
Carrying out repairs and attending breakdowns on gas /oil burners and control systems for steam & hot water boilers which will include providing a call-out response to be carried out within agreed SLA’s.
Diagnose faults and rectify these issues where possible.
Ensure that all contractors are monitored on behalf of the client and that works are carried out correctly.
Working in a client/customer-facing environment, ensuring you remain professional at all times.
Take a proactive approach to working in partnership with the client to ensure all concerns are dealt with in a timely manner.
Ensure all paperwork is kept up to date and submitted on a weekly basis.

Qualifications and Experience:

Served and completed a recognised apprenticeship.
Hold valid Commercial Gas Certification.
Experience of providing both planned and reactive maintenance and fault finding to a variety of equipment including commercial gas/heating and boiler plant.
Steam boiler experience (would be advantageous).
Able to demonstrate a strong focus on customer care with excellent communication skills.
Able to participate in an on-call rota (1/4 – 1/6)
Full UK Drivers Licence.
Happy to complete Disclosure Scotland.

Package:

Salary up to £42,000
Van + fuel card.
Mobile/ PDA.
Uniform
Overtime available.
Part of on-call rota (1/4) - moving to (1/6) after summer
Pension.
Holidays – 29 days.
