Job Description
- Develop and implement effective buying strategies
- Manage and oversee the buying team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
- Negotiate favourable terms and pricing with suppliers
- Identify potential new products and assess market demand
- Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts
- Collaborate with other department heads to ensure the achievement of company objectives
- Manage and control purchasing budgets and organisational spending
The Successful Applicant
A successful Head of Buying should have:
- Working knowledge of power tools/ machinery products
- Proven buying management experience in a similar role within the retail industry
- Prior people management and senior leadership experience within Buying
- Strong negotiation, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Excellent knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices
- Good working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software
- Must be willing to work 5 days in the office in a pivotal role.
