Care and Support Workers

Specialist schools in and around the Ormskirk area are looking to hire care and support workers to provide additional support for their school and its pupils. You do not need any prior school experience or qualifications to be successful in this role- you need to be able to build respectful relationships with the pupils, be able to be professional and calm in challenging situations and provide high quality care to all pupils within the school.

The school

This is a secondary SEMH (social, emotional, and mental health) school based in Ormskirk, catering for pupils aged 11-16 years, male and female. As the school is an SEMH provision, the pupils may display challenging behaviours, so the need for staff to be able to remain calm and professional, in difficult situations, while ensuring the pupils safety and wellbeing is always top priority.

The school provides its pupils with specialist intervention sessions run by professionals who ensure all needs are met while promoting their holistic and educational development throughout. The schools' expectations of its staff are that they are professional, calm, a team player, nurturing and be able to understand the needs of their pupils.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
