Brockenhurst College has a new opportunity available for a MI & Funding Business Partnerto join their team. You will join us on afull-time, permanent basis offering a competitive salary of£29,004 - £30,923, depending on experience.

Wessex Education Shared Services (WESS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Brockenhurst College. We provide a wide range of services to the College including financial management, payroll, human resources, examinations, student records and data returns processing and IT Software development.

About the role
MI and Funding Business Partner (Analyst)
- Provide a link between key stakeholders, particularly curriculum departments, and wider WESS MI team, offering advice to colleagues relating to funding rule compliance and improvements in quality outputs
- Ensure that contract owners and departmental managers understand and can effectively communicate regarding their academic performance and funding data
- Play an active role in the development and establishment of a joined up business partnering service that covers HR, Finance and Funding
- Manage and submit data/funding returns, ensuring they are accurate and valid.
Support for curriculum teams
- Meet regularly with a case load of academic managers; and with support of others in your team, provide recommendations to improve the quality of their data, providing guidance on funding or quality issues as they arise
- Resolve issues and queries raised by college managers and staff in a timely fashion
- Provide clear analysis to customers on funding and academic performance data
Funding and Achievement Rate Knowledge
- Develop and maintain an expert knowledge in funding methodologies accessed by member colleges
- Take part in the curriculum/business planning process with regard to curriculum content, learner numbers and funding, ensuring college plans meet funding rules. Challenge college managers to meet any re-set contribution levels
- Have a clear understanding and knowledge of academic performance measurement methodologies used by member colleges
- Provide clear and accurate guidance to customers on funding and academic performance data
- For each member college, produce and analyse data for their SAR
Data accuracy and audit compliance
- Submit data and funding returns on time, ensuring that the data submitted is accurate and of the highest quality
- Highlight data errors in funding returns and work with other departments to correct errors, finding solutions to prevent them from reoccurring
- Develop and maintain an expert knowledge of the ILR specification and implement this knowledge successfully
- Ensure colleges are ESFA and OfS audit compliant, using various data checking tools to check data accuracy
- Run PDSAT reports and work through these on a regular basis to ensure they are error free
- Run the ESFA Funding and Monitoring reports and work through these on a regular basis to ensure they are error free
- Support the college through internal and external audits, helping the key WESS contacts through the audit and Ofsted period
- Identify areas where data quality is poor or at risk, and develop processes to correct them

- Undertake such other reasonable duties as the line manager may require from time to time.

What we are looking for in our MI & Funding Business Partner:
- Level 3 qualifications or equivalent work experience
- GCSE passes or equivalent including Maths and English.
- Experience of working in a busy office environment or other similar customer facing role
- A sound operational knowledge of structured transactional/administration processes and systems
- Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, particularly word and Excel
- Problem Solving skills
