Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Building Control Surveyor. In this role, you will provide crucial support to the building control surveyor in ensuring compliance with building regulations and standards. You will work closely with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure that construction projects meet legal and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
Assist the building control surveyor with conducting site inspections to assess compliance with building regulations
Review plans and drawings to ensure they meet the necessary standards and regulations
Provide guidance and advice to architects, contractors, and building owners on how to meet building control requirements
Conduct research on new materials, technologies, and building methods to stay updated on industry trends and regulations
Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of site visits, inspections, and assessments
Collaborate with other departments and agencies involved in the construction process to coordinate efforts and ensure compliance
Assist with the resolution of disputes and complaints related to building control matters
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or a related field
1-2 years of experience in building control or a related field
Knowledge of building regulations, standards, and construction processes
Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze technical information
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Proficiency in relevant computer software and technologies (e.g., AutoCAD, building control databases)
Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Rate: £155.35
Location: Lambeth, South East London
