Contracts Supervisor
My Client, a leading construction and materials group in Ireland and Great Britain, is currently seeking a Contracts Supervisor to join their team.
As a Contracts Supervisor you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective professional day to day management of surfacing operations and associated works.

Operational
- Compliance with Health & Safety regulations and procedures ensuring that all issues of Health & Safety are monitored regularly, with relevant documentation, records and inspections completed and maintained in a timely and precise manner
- Preparation, communication and implementation of site specific H & S documentation and procedures and the completion of weekly site inspections.
- Compliance with Company Quality Management Systems and National Highway Sector Scheme 16 including preparation of Sector Scheme documentation and maintenance of records.
- Day to day planning, execution and supervision of surfacing and associated preparation works including;
- Management and organisation of surfacing squads (both In-house and sub-contract) and sub-contractors undertaking preparation works and of
- Liaison with dispatch controllers, asphalt plant operators and quarry managers to ensure effective planning and management of transport fleet and production requirements
- Setting out and levelling to ensure surface tolerances are achieved
- Monitoring and control of material usage and daily outputs in accordance with tender allowances
- Manage quality of workmanship/ materials to ensure high standard of finished product and compliance with contract specification
Commercial
- Assist with measurement and invoicing of works
- Monitoring of costs and assist with the preparation of monthly CVRs and sub contract payments certificates for each contract
- To assist with the preparation of tenders / priced quotations in relation to private surfacing work.
General Duties
- Ensure that good relations with customers/clients are established and maintained. Portray a professional image to all external bodies, in the management of the contract/project.
- Liaise with the client on site and represent the company at progress meetings, in order to provide a customer/client focused approach to the project, and in the resolving of operational issues. Client negotiation from inception to final account.
- Ensure that HR policies in relation to operatives are managed effectively.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as required by this function.
What we need from you…
- Third level construction related qualification or minimum 2 years experience in similar role within highway works or a related discipline or alternatively, a minimum 5 GCSE’s or equivalent, with 5 years demonstrative experience in a similar role within highway works or a related discipline
- Computer literate and a working knowledge of relevant applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Working knowledge of specifications, materials, plant, works methods
- Ability to constructively solve problems in a site fast moving environment.
