We’re looking for you to join us as our Central Operational Excellence Manager , embracing our journey further through implementing our Operational Excellence Framework and embedding CI best practice and methodologies within our Wincanton Central Teams. 

Working with our central administration teams we need you to  launch and embed best practises and ways of working through continued coaching and mentoring, whilst showcasing our CI buzz and culture, supported by the use of CI tools and techniques. 

Key Responsibilities:  

• Provide leadership and best practice guidance on Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement for Central teams. 
• Bring SME experience through Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement to deliver great results.
• Lead and partner on effective creation, launch & actioning of Wincanton’s Operational Excellence framework (8 Principles assessment)
• Drive high levels of employee engagement, encompassing the CI buzz initiative and driving change within central functions, focusing on making life easier in sites for our colleagues.
• Work in partnership with our Central teams to ensure the end-to-end process flows, variation and data are understood to enable effective CI initiatives.
• Plan and prioritise projects, ensuring the highest return for Wincanton overall, supported by action plans
• Turn data analysis into insight that is timely, accurate and relevant that can be used to drive positive actions across the Central teams.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with peers and stakeholders both internally and externally.
• Support site start-ups &/or Key Projects in terms of all aspects of OE and CI.

This is a national role, which requires travel.

What will you bring to our team?

• Excellent experience in developing and delivering CI initiatives, with a minimum of Green Belt certified (ideally with the desire to progress to Black Belt).
• Sound knowledge of Lean and process improvement tools/techniques. 
• MS Office and systems proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Minitab. Visio, ERP)
• Knowledge of Project Management tools & techniques. Project governance and compliance.
• Strong leadership experience of supporting stakeholders through change when implementing CI and ways of working. 
• Process orientation, with a track record of implementing process improvements and controls within a supply chain / back-office environment.
• Passion for working behind the scenes as well as being stakeholder facing, due to CI within systems, process mapping and system flows.
