Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, solution-oriented thinker passionate about creating innovative designs and building strong relationships with our suppliers and manufacturers.
The role of the Production Assistant plays a crucial part in the fitting of styles and overall production of the collections. We practise hybrid working, so you’ll have the opportunity to work independently and as part of a larger support team.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Production Manager to manage the product development process from concept to bulk
- Work to a production critical path and liaise daily with all offshore suppliers
- Assist the production team in conducting risk assessments (fabric, trim and product) through development and production process, e.g. wearing samples to test.
- Aid in all sample amendments, updating technical packs and fabric and trim approvals throughout production.
- Assist the production team in the making barcodes and all sticker information to pass onto each supplier each season
- Assist the production team with ensuring all samples required for retailers, influencer samples and samples for Ecommerce shoots are delivered on time.
- Aid with Label, swing tag and Polybag updates for each season if needed
- Work closely with production manager on product pricing
- Aid in all fabric and trim approvals with suppliers for bulk production
- Maintain existing long-term factory/supplier relationships whilst improving margin and more strictly enforcing critical path to improve delivery dates achieved
- Assisting with measuring all fit samples in fit sessions and sending fit comments to the relevant factory/supplier
- Keeping the shipment sample area in the design showroom neat and tidy and in order
- Continue to source new, sustainable methods and fabric for production in order to present new ideas to the production team.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year's experience working in a similar production role.
- In- depth technical and construction knowledge
- Ability to amend / assess garments with respect to production specifications.
- BA in Fashion Design or similar related degree.
- Advanced Microsoft office skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills & pro-active in problem solving.
- Ability to work at a very fast pace and excellent attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Comfortable working across multiple communication channels.
- Self-reliant and adaptable.
- Comfortable with repetition.
