DriveWorks Automation Engineer in Cambridge at Shred – Tech
Reporting to the Director of Automation, the DriveWorks Automation Engineer is responsible for the ongoing creation and effective performance of the automated systems and software used by the Engineering and other teams, aiming to help Shed-Tech maintain its competitiveness within the various market segments served.
The position requires working closely with other departments, the Director of Engineering, the NPD Managers, and the Engineering Team leads to ensure the smooth and efficient automation of the various data systems employed at Shred-Tech.
In addition, close collaboration with the Commercial Business unit leaders to ensure compliance with the Branding Strategy and integration to whatever CRM and Quoting system is in place.
We are looking for someone who can imagine what is possible, the solution, and the tools needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide input and direction for the automation strategy of Shred-Tech.
- Provide input to automating data flow in all the departments within Shred-Tech.
- Provide input to ensure all Shred-Tech automation activities align with the Strategic Plan.
Product:
- Assist team members in developing project plans, budgets, and schedules where products and processes can be automated.
Process:
- Responsible for development and design automation projects using DriveWorks as the primary platform and any other platform-specific tools (e.g. Workflows in Salesforce etc.).
- Assist in developing project plans for each automation project.
- Assist in investigating and developing automation tools for Office 365 (Power Automate etc.).
- Assist in investigating and implementing ways to automate portions of:
- Engineering Change Notices (ECO)
- Corrective Actions (CA)
- Engineering CASEs
- Project Management
- SolidWorks PDM
- Enterprise Resource Planning (Epicor)
- Upload ECO changes
- Assist in investigating and implementing a viable solution to synchronize SolidWorks BOMs and Epicor BOMs
- Assist in integrating the Salesforce platform (and any 3rd party additions) into Shred-Tech’s processes and other automation projects
- Work with the Director of Automation to develop annual departmental expense budgets and staffing requirements related to Automation activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Technical Education University/College Degree/Diploma.
- Mechanical or Electromechanical Preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ Years of Engineering and Design Experience
- Strong experience in Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Excel/Word/Teams/PowerPoint).
- Experience with Project Management software tools (MS Project/LiquidPlanner etc.), an asset.
- Experience with SolidWorks Product Data Management Professional.
- Excellent analytical abilities.
- Experience or knowledge of 80/20 principles is an asset.
- Must possess leadership and interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated planning, organizing and change management experience and abilities.
- Demonstrates professional communication skills.
Specific Skills, Ability, and Knowledge:
- Technical background in DriveWorks Pro, DriveWorks Autopilot, and DriveWorks Live Experience
- Minimum 1 -3 years of hands-on experience DriveWorks, DriveWorks Pro, DriveWorks Autopilot, DriveWorks Live
- Experience with DriveWorks customization and programming
- Experience with any programming language (Visual Basic, c, c#, Jason, etc.)
- Experience automating CAD systems via API programs or macros
- Ability to work with MSSQL databases is an asset.
- Experience working on system integrations (particularly ERP/CRM systems), an asset.
- Experience with Salesforce an asset.
Certifications:
- Certified DriveWorks Professional (CDWP), an asset.
- Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP), an asset.
