If you are over 16, achieved or expected to achieve five GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above, then we want to hear from you. Our Apprenticeship Scheme offers you the chance to gain a valuable insight into the range of services the Finance Team covers whilst studying for the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Foundation Certificate/Advanced Diploma in Accounting. This is a professional qualification which can help you to achieve a rewarding career in accountancy. The post is a fully funded training opportunity, meaning that we will pay for all of your training costs. We will also provide you with on-the-job work experience. You will be working in the Finance Team, supporting the Exchequer and Accountancy Services. You will assist in the day-to-day financial activities such as data entry, reconciliations, month end management accounts and year-end financial statements. You will receive the Real Living Wage, based on a sliding scale, paid holiday including bank holidays, staff benefits, additional training and the potential to progress to a second year or gain permanent employment. Being an apprentice is hard work but it can also be very rewarding. This is a varied role which will primarily be administration but gaining a wider knowledge by assisting officers in their duties. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who is accurate and an interest in maths and finance who is able to work both individually (remotely and in the office) and also in a team. It would be beneficial to have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel as a minimum.
