SEN Teacher
Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher looking for an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN)? Our school is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join our team and provide tailored support to students with diverse learning requirements. This role offers the chance to work closely with individuals with SEN and contribute to their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver lessons that cater to the specific needs and abilities of SEN students, ensuring inclusion and accessibility for all.
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and set appropriate learning goals for each SEN student, taking into account their unique strengths and challenges.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources, including assistive technology and multisensory approaches, to accommodate different learning styles and abilities within the SEN cohort.
  • Regularly assess students' progress and use data to inform instructional decisions, adapting teaching methods as needed to meet the evolving needs of SEN students.
  • Collaborate closely with SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), support staff, and external specialists to provide comprehensive support and interventions for SEN students.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to SEN students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and self-esteem.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers, keeping them informed about their child's progress and involving them in the development and review of SEN provision.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification, with a specialization or significant experience in SEN education.
  • In-depth understanding of SEN legislation, best practices, and interventions, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively in the classroom.
  • Strong knowledge of different SEN conditions, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with SEN students, colleagues, parents/carers, and external agencies.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the holistic development of SEN students, recognizing their individual strengths and needs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of SEN students in a dynamic educational environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration.
