Job description
Baby Necessities was set up to help alleviate child poverty within Southampton and the local areas. We are looking to expand the expertise on our Board by recruiting new trustees.
What will you be doing?The opportunity has arisen for us to expand our Board of Trustees. As a voting member of the Board, you will be responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, helping to develop Baby Necessities' aims, goals and objectives in accordance with its governing document.
Our trustees play a vital role in making sure that Baby Necessities achieves its core purpose. They share their invaluable skills, insight, and professional expertise. We are particularly looking for new trustees who have the following skills and experience:
Serving as a Trustee is an excellent opportunity to use existing skills and develop new ones, while making a valuable contribution to a local charity.
What are we looking for?Ideally, we are looking for someone who lives within or near to the Southampton area so is familiar with the local needs. A strong interest in helping families and young children living in poverty is essential. Having experience with the charity sector is desirable but not essential. Lived experience would also be a welcome asset providing a new prospective to our Board.
What difference will you make?As part of our Board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose to alleviate child poverty. As a trustee for Baby Necessities, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to help the strategic progression and shaping of a charity that is newly formed.
