Behaviour Support Worker

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Worker to join our team and make a positive difference in the lives of students.
Position Overview: As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing targeted support to students who require additional assistance in managing their behaviour. Working closely with school staff and external agencies, you will help to develop and implement strategies to address behavioural challenges and promote positive outcomes for students. This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about making a difference and supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural difficulties, helping them to develop self-regulation and coping strategies.
- Assist in the implementation of behaviour management plans, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in supporting students’ needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model to promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback and reporting on interventions as required.
- Liaise with external agencies and professionals to access additional support services for students and families.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant experience working with young people in a behavioural support or similar role is desirable.
- A Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Supporting Teaching and Learning, Youth Work, Psychology) is preferred but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure when dealing with challenging behaviour.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
