About The Role
Job Title : IT Helpdesk Manager
Location : Chorley and South Ribble
Salary : £42,403 plus 6% car allowance
Hours : 36.25 hours per week
Contract : Permanent
Closing Date : 17 March 2023
We’re looking for a technical manager to join our IT team, supporting the infrastructure, network and security of Chorley Council and South Ribble Borough Council.
You’ll have a strong technical background with good experience and understanding of Active Directory, Office365, Windows Server and VMWare. Beyond the technical requirements, you’ll also have the ability to lead and manage a team of IT technicians.
You’ll be joining an ambitious IT team, so we’re looking for someone who can drive and develop our infrastructure and network to support our wider organization objectives.
What you’ll be getting up to
- You’ll lead on the technical support of the Councils IT infrastructure and network, ensuring that it is fit for purpose and can meet organisational and customer needs.
- You’ll manage the IT helpdesk, ensuring that IT support is available to end users and that queries are resolved at the first point of contact wherever possible.
- To lead on the implementation of new technology and an effective cyber security function.
Who we’re looking for - Experience of maintaining IT infrastructure and desktop and server technologies.
- Experience and knowledge of working to ITL principles.
- Experience of managing and delivering complex IT projects.
- Experience developing and maintaining IT technical infrastructure.
- Experience of managing team performance to meet SLA’s
- Knowledge of IT security management and effective Disaster Recovery procedures
- Knowledge of developing IT technical infrastructure.
