Job description
Key Areas Chef Assistant
Duties
Assisting in the preparation and cooking of a variety of Chinese dishes, such as stir-fries, noodles, soups, dumplings, and rice dishes.
1.Chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients, including meats, vegetables, and herbs, as well as measuring and mixing sauces, spices, and other flavorings.
2.Following recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency and quality of the dishes.
3.Maintaining a clean and organized work station, including washing and sanitizing equipment and utensils, as well as storing ingredients and supplies properly.
4.Adhering to health and safety standards and regulations, including temperature control, food storage, and hygiene practices.
5.Assisting in stock management, such as monitoring inventory levels, ordering supplies, and receiving deliveries.
6.Cooperating with other kitchen staff, including chefs, and dishwashers, and communicating effectively to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
7.Learning new techniques and recipes, and developing culinary skills and knowledge.
8.Performing other duties as assigned by the head chef or kitchen manager
General
1. To carry out any reasonable request made by the head chef or a member of senior management.
2. To be fully conversant with all company procedures as outlined in the staff handbook, and conditions of employment
3. To be fully conversant with all legislation affecting working procedures and practises within the kitchen and in the company.
4. To be fully conversant with the operating standards and procedures within the department.
