RSR Justice are currently recruiting on behalf of a charity organisation based in Leicester for a Refuge Practitioner.

This is a permanent, part time role (17.5 hours), based in Leicester and offering a salary of £22,571 – £23,953 unqualified - £24,432 – £25,419 qualified (pro rata).

The hours are to be worked Wednesday-Friday, covering a shift pattern between 8.30am – 6.30pm.

Main Duties:

• Provide practical, emotional and personal development support so that women and children are able to deal with the effects of domestic abuse in their lives.
• Provide a safe and supported environment for women and children living in the refuge.
• Understanding the needs of clients and developing/improving services to meet those needs.
• Ensure the safety, and effectiveness of the Refuge, and broader responsibilities that contribute to the development of the organisation.

Essential Requirements:

• Good standard of general education
• Experience of working with vulnerable adults and children
• Experience of working in a refuge, hostel, or supported accommodation
• Experience of following safeguarding policies and procedures
• An understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on both women, men, and children
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
