Job description

This is a great opportunity to join our Portfolio Management Office within Finance Change. You will play a critical role within the PMO by working directly alongside the Finance Change Delivery team(s) where you will collaborate to provide specialist hands-on skills for Programme and Project Managers. This is a proactive role and you will be the specialist within the team to ensure the standards and methodology set from the Governance and Standards Office are met. This is a broad role that encompasses all areas of Programme Management and you will need to provide strong coaching and communication capabilities to ensure the guidance is consistently applied. You will be responsible for: Governance: Consistently applies the agreed standards of RAID Management and ensures Risks are captured and managed appropriately Consistently applies the agreed standards of Benefits Management and ensures all Benefits are captured on SharePoint Consistently applies the Change Control Process and works with Project Managers to ensure any changes are taken through the agreed process Take responsibility for co-ordinating all Programme Governance Forums by Preparing the content, Facilitating if required, Creating Actions/Decisions Log etc Champion the completion of accurate, timely Financial Forecasts to allow efficient tracking and reporting within the Programme Work with Project Managers to ensure all project Artifacts are completed to the agreed standard, shared with relevant Stakeholders and filed securely Advisory: Provide coaching and guidance to project managers and act as a subject matter expert for Project management best-practice, Standards,Governance and Tools etc Oversee the Delivery Methodology and 'Gate' process, ensuring best practice is followed at all times, holding Project managers to account for completion and quality Provide first line of challenge to the Project Team Take responsibility for project audits using the agreed Assurance process, shared lessons learned and key areas of interest Provide ad-hoc analytical support for the Project Team Reporting: Contribute to the content of the Programme level Investment Committee Paper/s, and act as the co-ordinator between the Programme and Portfolio Management Office to ensure it is succesfully completed and submitted on time Contribute to the content of the Annual and Long Term Plans, and act as the co-ordinator between the Programme and Portfolio management Office to submit an accurate plan You will need: Prior experience of working with multiple projects at the same time Solid understanding of PMO process, best practice Programme and Project delivery methods Data analysis and report preparation experience Open, flexible, and with an approachable manner that gains the respect of colleagues Prior experience of demonstrating resilience through solving problems, facing challenges head on and being able to recover from mistakes Nice to have: Programme management methodology/ qualification (MSP, PMP, Prince2 or equivalent) What's in it for you: We’re all about the little helps.
