Our client specialises in passive fire protection. They are a family run business who have been suppliers of fire protection since 2006. Based in Southeast Essex within easy access to the M25/A127/A12. Due to business growth, we are looking for a Qualified Quantity Surveyor to join their business on a permanent basis.
Quantity Surveyor required for an immediate start, based in Essex.
The position of qualified Quantity Surveyor within the Fire Protection sector holds responsibility for managing the costs on the various project being commission via the company. They will assist in ensuring the project is completed within its projected budget.
Principle Responsibilities:
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly.
Prepare invoice/applications for completed and monthly accounts on all the projects.
Maintain relationships with the client’s quantity surveyors.
Understand the clients accounting practices to ensure invoice/applications and payments are made on time.
Procure or agree the services of sub-contractors / self-employed in conjunction with the Operations Director who are employed to work on the various projects.
Liaise with the client and other construction professions, such as site managers, project managers and site engineers.
Provide monthly reports on the status of each project utilising the CRM system.
Personal ongoing development.
Produce weekly / monthly cost analysis on project status.
Credit control for invoices / applications with all projects.
Attend pre-start meeting and review of Contracts (NEC, JCT etc)
Ideally, we are looking for a qualified QS at least three years within the Fire Protection sector but will also be interested in hearing from you if you are newly qualified and looking to start your career. You will need to be dynamic and prepared to build relationships with clients.
A full UK driving licence is essential for site visits.
The ability to multi-task and run various project at once is essential together with knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts would be desirable but not essential.
