About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and efficient Employee Relations Advisor to join our HR Team on an interim 3–month contract.
In this role, you will use your HR expertise and pro–active approach to deliver a high quality and professional Employee Relations service to our Asda Express retail & food services business. You will independently handle a variety of complex cases, utilising HR data and evidence to influence decision making. Your insights and knowledge will guarantee that your HR advice, guidance and decision making are well–informed, accurate and aligned with our established policies and procedures.
You will deliver high–quality customer service, providing expert advice and support to managers by supporting on employee relation cases. These include investigations, disciplinary matters, monitoring short and long–term absences, grievances, redundancies, appeals, performance management and managing and monitoring immigration.
This is a fixed term office–based role at our Waterside Head Office in Blackburn, we are looking to attract a knowledgeable, agile and resilient individual who can demonstrate critical thinking and problem–solving to resolve Employee Relations cases. As the convenience arm of Asda, Asda Express is supporting Asda's ambition to become the UK's second largest grocery retailer by moving into the fast–growing GBP40bn convenience market. Asda Express will also help bring Asda's value pricing closer to millions of customers.
Following the acquisition of convenience sites from the Co–op Group and EG Group during the last two years, there are circa 470 stores which are in the process of being converted to Asda Express. Each store stocks up to 3,000 branded and own–label products to suit a broad range of customer needs including 'top up' shops for essential items such as milk and bread, grabbing lunch on the go or cooking dinner from scratch.
The acquisition of the former EG Group UK convenience sites will also help accelerate Asda's move into the GBP62bn foodservice market, adding more than 450 Greggs, Subway and Burger King outlets as franchise agreements as well as wholly owning healthy fast–food chain, LEON.
