Service Manager – Highways

Operations – Engineering & Streetscene

Bury Council has an exciting position for a suitably qualified and experienced Highways professional to manage our Highways Service.

The successful candidate will support the Head of Engineering & Streetscene in providing strategic leadership on Highways Service matters.

As a Service Manager - Highways, within our Engineering & Streetscene team you will:

• Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Highways Service including our in-house operational staff and supervisors, our team of highway inspectors, highway
  engineers and support staff.
• Pr ovide strategic direction on all aspects of highway maintenance
• Work closely with Asset & Network Management colleagues
• Ensure cost effective efficient service delivery

You must be self-motivated and able to work independently and with initiative, prioritising workloads, managing delegated budgets and meeting deadlines.

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week, with attendance at evening meetings in accordance with the needs of the service.

The salary for this post will be £51,515 to £52,563 per annum.
