This is an exciting opportunity to join our Software Engineering team, where you as technical lead will work with our experienced team of Engineers, Business Analysts and Quality Assurance to develop and deliver high-quality software for the Commercial Insurance market.
This fast-paced and dynamic area of the insurance domain needs a responsive, modern and configurable software platform, and Open GI’s suite of products offers a comprehensive solution. Our products are built by the team using modern engineering principles, programming languages, and technical practices to produce well-crafted quality software.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join and set the technical direction and standards for this evolving and fast-paced team. It will enable you to leverage your knowledge and expertise working on a variety of technology stacks.
Our Multi-tiered ASP.NET Web Application uses C#, MVC and the latest versions of .Net core and the .Net framework. We design around a microservice-based architecture partially hosted in both private cloud and Azure, including Azure Kubernetes, Application Insights, Azure API Management and Blob Storage.
- Leadership: leading a cross-functional product delivery team in collaboration with the Agile Delivery Manager and the Product Owner / Business Analyst
- Ownership: capable of owning a whole system or sub-system within the platform.
- Coding: ability to write, maintain and design the business logic of a software application, the data or services requested are available, as well as create and maintain the core databases, data and application program interfaces (APIs) to other backend processes
- Architectural decisions: guiding the technical decisions within the team that shape the architecture over time and ensure its alignment to principles and technical strategy.
- Performance and scalability engineering: ability to assess, recommend, design, implement, optimise, and troubleshoot measures to ensure systems perform as needed.
- Legacy remediation: ability to operate in or around older systems, and devise and execute strategies for modernising and improving them.
- Agile and Lean principles: works with team to continuously improve their Agile approach by guiding and championing Lean and Agile principles for achieving quality, adaptability, speed and alignment.
