Job description
Burley Lodge Equestrian Centre is a family run riding centre set in 180 acres of land in Shinfield, just south of Reading, Berkshire. We are a BHS approved centre with a highly commended status. Our equestrian centre houses 40 horses that are either full livery or working. We facilitate all riding abilities, providing private and group lessons, clinics, hacks, shows, stable management club, pony days, summer camps, tots toddles & much more….
We are looking to employ a part time groom (hours to be discussed) and will include all aspects of yard work – mucking out, grooming, turning out and catching in, tacking, and untacking the horses, poo-picking and general horse care. We are looking for a forward-thinking, motivated, and hardworking individual. The successful candidate will be a good team player with excellent communication skills, and the ability to use their initiative.
We are looking for an individual with the following skills, experience, and qualification:
• Minimum of BHS stage 1 care. • Experience of working on a busy, client facing yard. • Safe and confident equine handling skills for a variety of horses and ponies.
Training can be provided to gain knowledge (dependent on individual).
Uniform given.
