Job description
The Principal and Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and financially astute Director of Finance and Operations.
Hulme Grammar School (HGS) is an independent co-educational day school for around 750 pupils aged 2-18 years. Situated on the outskirts of Oldham, in Greater Manchester, HGS is one of the leading schools in the North West of England. Having undergone several transformations since it was originally founded in 1611, the School has recently been rebranded and, with a clear strategic plan in place, is well-positioned to enter a new and exciting phase of its rich history.
The new Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) will work alongside the Principal and Governing Body in developing and delivering long-term financial and operational planning. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the continued success and development of HGS.
Reporting into the Principal, the DFO is a critical member of the Executive Team and will help shape and implement the ongoing strategic development of the School.?The DFO will provide leadership to a diverse team of support staff and ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the day-to-day non-educational operations of the school, including finance, buildings and facilities, health and safety, grounds, IT, risk management, and commercial activities.
The successful candidate will be an individual of proven senior leadership ability; a strategic thinker who possesses outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.?Excellent financial and commercial acumen together with superb relationship building skills will be essential, as will a passion for working in education.
Prior experience in the education experience is not a prerequisite and applications are welcomed from candidates with commercial, charitable and private and public sector backgrounds.
