About this role
The Aladdin Studio team is focused on developing a world-class digital experience which will help developers of all types build faster and more effectively on Aladdin. We are evolving it as an integrated digital application where you can discover data, build your own financial apps, and access industry-leading content, documentation and insight – with all of this delivered via a design-forward and client-centric experience.
As an engineer in the compute team, you will be building out Aladdin Studio Developer with a specific focus on realizing our elastic compute framework which aids researchers, portfolio managers, traders and others across the firm to build, test, deploy and scale their research or data science workflows. The team is committed to open source technologies, and we regularly contribute the work that we do back to the community.
Your role:
Design and implement the future of the developer platform with a focus on performance, stability and resilience
Collaborate with engineers and product managers to prioritise and deliver integrations across Aladdin Studio
Influence the technical direction of the studio developer platform with a focus on quality software, automated testing capabilities and c oaching of junior team members
Enhancement of our monitoring, telemetry and tracing capabilities of the developer platform
Continue to help improve our build automation and deployment processes
We’re looking for someone who has:
Experience in designing and building services in a service-oriented architecture. We primarily develop in Golang and experience or an interest in learning and developing in Go is strongly desirable
A focus on open communication, a ble to ask good questions and can communicate themselves clearly and effectively
A familiarity with c on tainerisation and workload orchestration . Our platform is built on top of kubernetes and utilises multiple open-sourced cloud native projects such as Argo /Helm/Kustomize / Kaniko /Keda etc.
The motivation and ability to pick up new domains and technologies with a focus on shipping high quality and well-tested code
Experience building out scalable APIs
The ability to see work through from conception to delivery
A desire to seek feedback from teammates, stakeholders and product managers
Focused on c onstant and continued learning
