Salary : £34,000 (reviewed after probationary)

Lucas Love Healthcare are working alongside our client to recruit a Registered Manager to join their team in Bangor.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
They are a well-established service led charity in Bangor delivering supported living services to people with a range of complex disabilities and emergency accommodation services to single homeless men in Belfast.
JOB PURPOSE:
Day to day team leadership and management of all staff to enable the effective and efficient delivery of the service (i.e., the provision of services in their homes for persons who by reason of illness, infirmity, disability or family circumstances are unable to provide any such service for themselves without assistance).
It is expected that the job holder will have and maintain Registered Manager status with the RQIA or is willing and able to achieve this registered status.
The individuals who utilise our services are actively encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities and opportunity with the intention of living in their own home, promoting independence, personal choice and social inclusion. It is expected that the Registered Manager will ensure that all staff facilitate the achievement of resident goals as far as this is possible.
As this is a 24/7 service, there may be a requirement for the Registered Manager to work flexibly across the entire week, depending upon the needs of the service. In addition, there will also a requirement to participate on the Emergency on Call Rota.
MAIN DUTIES
The Registered Manager will be accountable for the duty of care towards the residents and staff.
Managing all aspects of the staff team and providing sound leadership to deliver quality services by ensuring they are clear about their respective duties and responsibilities and have the support they need to carry out their roles safely.
Ensure the staff Rota system is maintained and reviewed regularly to ensure satisfactory levels of staffing are planned, available and maintained. This includes the pre-approval of holidays for staff.
Direct line management and support of the Team Leaders and Key workers in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities including supporting them in the management of their respective functions.
Ensure that recruitment, induction and training are effective for the needs of the service and meets all regulatory requirements.
Regular review and management of resourcing requirements including Rota/on-call management to ensure the service to residents is well-maintained.
Facilitate Team and Staff Meetings as required and as appropriate.
Liaise with the Human Resources Manager on related staff issues including ensuring Human Resources policies and procedures are followed and leading applicable processes.
Ensure the site is being properly maintained and fit for purpose with due regard to duty of care and health and safety.
Maintain full and accurate records and ensure that reporting systems are in accordance with legal and organisational requirements.
Effectively managing complaints and incidents by ensuring that procedures are followed, investigations are carried out promptly and appropriately and that findings are used to make improvements, where appropriate, to the service provided.
Ensure that individual residents, and where appropriate, their representatives or other stakeholders know how they can raise concerns or complaints about the service provided.
Ensure that effective communication is established and maintained with residents, and where appropriate, their representatives or other stakeholders which ensures that HARMONI maintains a high quality delivery of service.
Liaising with the Finance Manager in the financial management of the site.
Deal with funding authorities/statutory bodies including the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA), Health and Social Care Trusts, Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC), Housing Executive etc as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
The applicant must hold a minimum of a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services
A minimum of 5 years experience working within a Supported Living, Disability or Domiciliary Care service with clients who have complex disabilities.
Of the above 5 years, a minimum of 2 years experience in an operational managerial role.
Current NISCC registration.
Strong knowledge of RQIA standards, DHSSPS standards and other relevant legislation with demonstrable evidence of their application in previous work.
Experience of staff management including support and appraisal, performance management, recruitment and selection and formal investigations.
Financial management experience including managing a budget and completing financial and operational reporting.
Strong, effective communication and IT skills.
Medication administration experience.
Experience of policy development and implementation.
Experience of training design and delivery.
Current driving licence and access to a car to meet the mobility requirements of the role (please note that applicants with a disability which prevents driving, will still be considered provided they can otherwise demonstrate how they can meet the mobility requirements).
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
Previously acted as a Registered Manager for RQIA purposes and a Safeguarding Champion
Previous experience of using care management software (for example Care Control Systems)
Knowledge of the current health and social care services available locally for clients
