Job description

Specialist knowledge and skills, including: Interpreting and analysing clinical and non-clinical facts to inform accurate diagnoses and prognoses in a wide range of highly complex conditions/clinical specialities, to recommend the best course of intervention, and to develop comprehensive therapeutic care plans. Understanding of varying roles and occupations that occur within a life span using expert knowledge of the constituent parts of activity needed to achieve everyday tasks. Expert knowledge of the impact of impairment/pathology on the ability to perform activity/ fulfil roles. Undertake the comprehensive assessment of adult patients, including those with a complex presentation, using investigative and analytical skills. To be highly skilled in use of standardised and professionally recognised non-standardised assessments relevant to the clinical area. Apply a high level of understanding of the effect of disability and provide training and advice on lifestyle changes and adaptations to the patients social and physical environment. Use clinical reasoning, and utilise a wide range of treatment skills and approaches, e.g., sleep management, cognitive therapy, anxiety management, group dynamics etc. To formulate specialised symptom management and treatment programmes that are sensitive to individual values, cultural and spiritual diversity.
