Pharmacy Technician

Chichester Hospital | Pharmacy | Fixed Term (12 months) | Full time

Up to £28,500 depending on experience

37.5 hours per week

Our Pharmacy department currently have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Fixed Term Pharmacy Technician to cover maternity leave. Saturday working will be required during the 12 months, but on a rota basis. During the 12 months, the hospital will go-live with our brand new electronic prescribing system, which is a really exciting milestone for the hospital.

The Job

Working closely with our Pharmacy Manager, as a Pharmacy Technician you will have defined responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Providing in house pharmacy services, both for Inpatients and Outpatients
• Assist with dispensing
• Carry out procurement, distribution, stock taking and the replenishment of pharmacy items to the ward and departments.
• If ACT and MM trained - to assist with clinical ward work and checking.

The Person

To succeed as a Pharmacy Technician, you will;

• NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy service or equivalent is required.
• You must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Society.
• Work as part of our team to deliver a high quality pharmacy service to wards and departments where patient experience and safety is at the heart of everything we do.
• Have Experience within a hospital pharmacy
• Be required to have Good IT Skills, good literacy, numeracy and communication skills
• Hold a Medicines Management/Reconciliation accreditation
• Desirable - Accredited Checking Technician qualification

Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital

Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital is a 30 bedded hospital within walking distance of the city centre with free onsite car parking.  The hospital has two laminar flow operating theatres, a JAG accredited endoscopy unit and two minor treatment rooms in the outpatient department.  There is a small radiology department and CT/ MRI services are provided in a mobile unit.  Inpatient physiotherapy is provided within the hospital whilst our outpatients attend the fitness and wellbeing centre at Chichester gate for their follow up physio and hydrotherapy treatments. 

Our main speciality is orthopaedics. We also care for patients needing treatment within the specialties of gynaecology, urology, general surgery, plastic surgery, ophthalmology max fax, and pain. We provide outpatient services for dermatology, cardiology, neurology, and rheumatology.
