QA Automation Engineer - SaaS microservices, Selenium, REST Assured

This is a remote position 

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated QA Automation Engineer to join a small, exceptional team. A well-funded scale-up their comprehensive risk scoring platform handles complex multi-source fraud detection and compliance checks at high speed.

You will need experience in automated testing on SaaS micro-service based products, Selenium and REST Assured (ideally in Java). QA Engineers will be expected to take requirements, turn them into test cases, write test plans and develop automated test suites that run in CI/CD pipelines.

As a QA Engineer you should be familiar with a number of industry automation frameworks as well as analysing data from log files and similar sources to identify issues.

The role:

• Create elegant test scripts for new product features based on requirement
• Create and execute test plans for releases
• Maintain and enhance automated test suites
• Developing and maintaining technical skills necessary to the performance of the role

Required experience:

• Automation testing in a web application or micro-service context
• Selenium (ideally in Java)
• REST Assured
• Software testing tools
• Bachelor Degree or equivalent qualification
• Good written and verbal communication skills including technical writing
• Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle in Agile environments

Desirable skills (the preferred candidate will have MOST of these):

• Testing Spring based applications in the cloud (AWS)
• Cucumber BDD
• Cypress
• REST API testing
• GIT or BitBucket
• JIRA
• Linux and command-based tools
• CI/CD environments
• Keen learner who actively monitors new trends in testing

We are looking a QA Engineer / Software Tester who can communicate confidently with Software Engineers and take a more consultative approach when it comes to testing.

You'll be able to work without supervision and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment, constantly demonstrating commitment to doing a first class job. Self-motivated and positive, using own initiative to constantly review and improve processes, tasks and own abilities. Good organisation and prioritisation skills are a pre-requisite.
