Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Swansea, SA5 Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours Salary: £77 - £80 Per day
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel, Swansea. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with additional learning needs, particularly those with Autism. This is a temporary position with expected full-time hours.
Job Duties:
- Assist the class teacher in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with additional learning needs.
- Provide one-to-one support to students with Autism, helping them to engage in classroom activities and achieve their educational goals.
- Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to each student's specific needs.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and other professionals to develop and deliver appropriate learning materials and activities.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and reporting any concerns to the class teacher.
- Act as a positive role model for students, promoting good behaviour, social skills, and emotional well-being.
- May be require to ssist with personal care tasks, including toileting, feeding, and administering medication.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress, behaviour, and any incidents.
Required Qualifications:
- GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- A recognised child-based qualification (e.g. , CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning
- Additional qualifications or training related to Special Educational Needs (SEN) would be advantageous
Education and Experience:
- Previous experience working with students with additional learning needs, particularly Autism, is essential.
- Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) practises and strategies.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of Autism and the ability to implement appropriate support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of students with additional learning needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
