We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on continuous improvement We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer, to join our team and work with a cross functional Engineering delivery team, to support new and innovative projects from initial concept, through to volume production.
Key responsibilities.
- Influence design for manufacture and assembly activities.
- Develop and maintain efficient manufacturing processes.
- Generate standard operating procedures for technical assembly.
- Support virtual build assessments for new concepts.
- Support DFMEA and PFMEA activities.
- Plan labour requirements for manufacturing projects.
- Plan and implement manufacturing facilities in readiness for launch.
- Support capacity planning and value stream mapping activities.
- Ensure facilities and processes satisfy health and safety requirements.
- Cost estimation and cost reduction for manufacturing projects.
- Work in multi-discipline teams to deliver to and support other business functions.
- Technical liaison with customers, suppliers, engineering, and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to continual improvement of manufacturing processes & tools.
- Support business development activities for manufacturing.
- Support smooth day to day running of manufacturing programmes.
Who are we looking for?
- Educated to HND level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
- Previous manufacturing engineering experience essential.
- Our ideal candidate will have previous experience within a high quality, medium volume manufacturing operations in the automotive or Aerospace sector. They will have a degree within an Engineering discipline or equivalent. They will also have experience in process control methodologies of CNC machining cells & preferably manual assembly.
- We also need someone with examples/experience in the preparation and compilation of PPAP submissions and some knowledge/experience in applying TS16949 (QS9000) tools and techniques.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge, Green or Black Belt desired.
- Experience in automotive OEM or 1st Tier supplier preferred.
- Vehicle or vehicle sub-system background preferred.
- Strong communicator & able to work in a cross functional team.
