Job description

CAST provides support and assistance to R&AS who have fled their homes due to war, conflict, persecution. CAST is committed to providing access to essential services shelter, food, and healthcare, 

What will you be doing?

The English Language Tutor Volunteer will provide one-on-one or small group English language tutoring sessions to refugees and asylum seekers to help them improve their language skills and better integrate into their new community.

What are we looking for?

• A native or near-native speaker of English
• Experience teaching English as a foreign or second language
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Flexibility and adaptability to work with different learning styles and abilities
• Patience and empathy in working with refugees and asylum seekers who may have experienced trauma
• Ability to commit to a regular schedule of tutoring sessions
• Willingness to undergo a background check and attend training sessions as required
