We are looking for a talented and ambitious Senior Sous Chef to join a renowned Bar & Restaurant chain in Belfast. You will be working at one of their busy and popular venues in South Belfast, where you will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and deliver excellent customer service. As a Senior Sous Chef, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the site, leading and inspiring your team, and contributing to the growth and improvement of the business. You will also maintain a high standard of professionalism and discipline at all times. Purpose

Under the general direction of the Head Chef, and within the limits of established procedures, to oversee the day-to-day operations within the kitchen. This individual will have full responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.

Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Head Chef to run the kitchen smoothly and efficiently.
• Manage the quality and cost of all ingredients and dishes.
• Store goods properly and follow stock rotation rules.
• Keep the kitchen clean and hygienic at all times.
• Monitor costs and wastage and look for ways to reduce them.
• Record temperature readings daily and follow hygiene procedures.
• Follow allergen procedures and guidelines strictly.
• Help the Head Chef with menu planning, costing and pricing.
• Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance.
• Train and mentor junior staff members.
• Perform any other relevant and related duties.

Educational qualifications
• You must have NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Food Preparation and Cooking or equivalent qualification to apply for this job.
• You also need an Intermediate Food Safety Certificate to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

Skills and Experience
• Passionate about cooking and eager to learn from different cuisines and techniques.
• Experienced leader with a year of seniority in the kitchen and excellent communication skills.
• Committed to food safety and hygiene standards, with full knowledge of EHO regulations and record keeping practices.
• Team player who can work well with others and motivate them to perform their best.
