The Opportunity
The Quality Control (QC) Inspector is responsible for determining that the work completed by the Sub-contractors, Vendors and Supplier is to the standards determined and specified by the Project at their allocated work area. This will include the witnessing of tests performed on and, occasionally, off-site, in the form of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s).
The QC Inspector will follow the requirements of the Inspection & Test Plan(s) (ITP’s) and complete the relevant forms demanded by the ITP
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Strong knowledge of relevant national and international standards and codes for related mechanical discipline (e.g. BS, EN, ISO, PED, CE / UKCA) covering HVAC, rotatory, static and piping works.
- Ability to adapt to changing deadlines and achieve project goals and milestones
- Good understanding of Quality Management System methods and workflow relationships
- Auditing experience
- Work as part of a multi-discipline quality team, preparation and be involved in the review of Quality, Design, Procurement, Construction and Completion’s process deliverable activities. Verification of construction / completions. Commissioning documentation and red line / as built drawings included within handover dossiers at all stages of project life cycles up to handover as part of the project MC walkdown process.
- Review and accept final project documentation regarding contractor submissions and related equipment to support the ITR completions process, in line with project Standards and Process requirements.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Industry Specific Experience:
Experience in a QC role, or 10 years in a related role, in a heavy industrial or construction environment
Previous construction experience within the mining or heavy engineering industries would be an advantage
Advantage: previous completions system or process experience.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Minimum: A degree / HND / HNC qualification in the related discipline
Preferred: Qualification in management system auditing
Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent
HSE Capability:
Good knowledge of Industry SHE working practices and procedures, and willing to influence safe outcomes in the field
IT Skills:
Proven background in construction and completions software
Strong foundation in general business IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Packages)
