Job description
Are you interested in advancing a career within eDiscovery? This is an exciting opportunity to work across varied and complex cases of national importance while making a difference to millions of people’s lives.
About the CMA
We help people, businesses, and the UK economy by promoting competitive markets and tackling unfair behaviour. Our work is wide ranging, ambitious and often new and challenging.
The role
In the eDiscovery team, we use our technical expertise to investigate, collate, process, analyse and produce digital materials to support the critical cases undertaken by the CMA. The size and complexity of cases are increasing, as we are tasked by Government to regulate the large digital platforms such as Google and Facebook.
As part of the wider Data, Technology, and Analytics unit, comprising data scientists and engineers, we deliver cutting-edge eDiscovery capabilities combining commercial and in-house technologies. As an eDiscovery Officer, you'll collaborate with technical experts, assisting clients in data processing, manipulation, and document review. You'll tackle challenging projects involving complex data and workflows, conducting data reviews, keyword filtering, deduplication, and data exports.
About you
We're seeking individuals with a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., digital forensics, computer science or similar) or equivalent experience in eDiscovery operations / legal casework / evidence review. Proficiency or certification in eDiscovery tools such as Nuix and Relativity is also essential. Importantly, you will be someone who embodies the qualities of hard work, creativity, and strong team spirit, whilst bringing a vibrant and positive attitude to your work.
If you can demonstrate a strong passion for technology, coupled with exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and the initiative to research and craft creative technical solutions, we would love to hear from you.
What we can offer you
The CMA is a hugely diverse, rewarding and stimulating place to work – an opportunity to work for the public good and to stretch and develop yourself in doing so. We offer generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme with an average employer contribution of 27%, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, our employee assistance programme, and our extensive flexible working options.
