Job description
We are currently seeking a Senior Estimator to join our client Electrical Utilities team, based in either Stevenage or London, this is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK biggest tier 1 contractors
Salary:£70,000-£80,000 plus Company Car or Car allowance
Location: Stevenage - remote working available, with occasional travel to either the Stevenage or London office required
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Estimator, you will collaborate with our Electrical Utilities team, supporting our ongoing partnerships within the industry. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing project concepts and detailed designs to identify work packages and create accurate bill of quantities.
- Leading tender meetings, managing bids, and preparing documentation for submission, including negotiation stages with clients.
- Staying updated on technical, contractual, and commercial developments to ensure competitiveness in securing contracts.
- Engaging and obtaining quotes from specialist subcontractors and suppliers, analyzing and summarizing comparisons, and contributing to supply chain development.
- Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of all necessary documentation for successful tender handovers to management and project teams.
Requirements:
This role is ideal for candidates who possess:
- A good understanding of NEC3 terms and conditions, CESMM, and NRSWA/HAUC highway specifications.
- Background in Electrical & Civil engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in Excel, with a willingness to adapt to other estimating software.
- Previous experience in the Utilities or Construction Industry is preferred.
