Supplier Manager - Inside IR35
Contract Term: 12months

Location: Milton Keynes – 2 days in the office

As a Supplier Manager your main responsibilities will be:
- Ownership of 15 to 20 complex multi-million pound, medium cost and business risk assessed contracts, utilising the full implementation of the Supplier Management Framework, to meet all governance, regulatory, risk-reward and exit strategy requirements and deliver the full commercial and contractual value negotiated by Sourcing
- Develop and implement annual joint supplier account plans, to access scarce supplier resources and deliver significant relationship generation-based value beyond what the supplier committed to at the time of Sourcing-led contract negotiation and contract signature, working collaboratively with the relevant Category Manager/s and Sourcing Manager/s, together with all relevant customers and stakeholders
- Implementation of the full Meeting Governance Framework for specifically led suppliers, to include executive sponsorship, delivering a single, joined up supplier managed led approach, one supplier dialogue and engagement model throughout Network Rail, to secure the best cost and value led deal through supplier demand management, savvy selling strategies across multiple Routes and Regions to aggregate demand, in a complex, devolved organisation
- Facilitate the development and implementation of ideas and supplier enabled innovation-based business cases, working in collaboration with relevant customers and stakeholders, to address existing business problems that require external market expertise to solve
- Drive the full day-to-day operational service and contractual performance value from the supplier contract and relationship, in support of the customer and stakeholders’ business case and service delivery requirements, working collaboratively with the relevant business-based Supplier Performance Manager
- Negotiation and implementation of significant incremental cost savings and benefits throughout the contract lifecycle through expert negotiation leadership, in support of the C&P Director’s annual cost savings target
- Facilitate and manage contractual changes throughout the contract lifecycle, resultant from complex evolving business and specification requirements, in collaboration with relevant customers and stakeholders, for the accurate management and reporting on cost, risk and service performance indicators
- Develop and manage contract aligned continuous improvement activities, demand pipeline assessments and annual customer satisfaction surveys, to deliver accurate progress reporting against each baseline contract in the Balanced Scorecard and to lead cross-functional alignment/learnings, aligned to the Vision and best in class Procurement ambition
- Develop the external market supplier management practices within the Supplier Management team, to enable the implementation of good practice and move towards a recognised best in class capability, in support of the employer of choice ambition
Essential:
- Educated to a Business or Economics degree standard or equivalent business experience
- Deep level of Procurement experience, to include Supplier Management
- Demonstrable experience of contract law and financial management
- Demonstrable level of negotiation and dispute resolution skill set
- Demonstrable experience of driving value from complex supplier contracts and relationships
- Ability to deliver defined relationship and commercial value and deliver continuous improvement value
- Experienced with agile cross-functional collaborative working methods
- Politically savvy, with the proven ability to use direct and indirect influencing strategies at an executive level
- Demonstrable level of problem-solving experience of complex supplier specific challenges
- Completer finisher mindset
