Your ‘day to day’ As Intellectual Property Engineer you will be part of our local IP Department for Philip Morris Manufacturing &, Technology Bologna S.p.A. and will be reporting to the Sr Intellectual Property Engineer. The position will be based in Bologna. You will support the definition and execute the PMI MTB Intellectual Property Management process for the creation, harvesting and protection of new Intellectual Property assets of strategic interest to PMI within the scope of PMI business. You will act as point of contact with central Intellectual Property Management Department for IP functional alignment and performance. Finally, you will promote and increase the IP awareness through the entire MTB population. Your Responsibilities Support the definition and coordinate the deployment of of Intellectual Property Management process for all PM MTB, within the scope of all PMI platforms, interfacing with relevant PMI local (intelligence, legal, compliance, finance) and PMI central functions (IP management and legal), as well as external entities. Coordinate and execute technology research/feasibilities, related studies for applied technology to solve problems within the scope of PMI Manufacturing needs, ensuring its timely protected in terms of Idea Sharing Forms to be submitted and patent to be filed. Locally coordinate all the activities delegated to the PMI external consultant in regards of MTB activities where they are the PMI service providers, to enable continuous creative ideation, harvesting and protection, contributing to assure that the objectives are achieved to time and budget in terms of Idea submission, Prior Art searches and State of the Art assessments. Provide proper support to all MTB idea generators to ensure the complete finalization for all Ideas from MTB, approaching and supporting them when required. Coordinate and execute regular review and assessment for all Ideas from MTB, ensuring the definition of the MTB proposal in order to define how to manage each MTB idea generated. Support in executing regular assessment and selection of new ideas/concepts in new projects and/or existing manufacturing in collaboration with all key PMI MTB functions. Act as a local user of central database for idea management used by all IP Managers in PMI and MTB for Product or Technology/Process cases ensuring the correctness of information, the status and the progress of each case, from idea insertion, reviewing, and finalization till the patent filing phase with the time required by the business. Support MTB teams in the enhancement of creative and innovative spirit and mindset towards PMI Vision, motivating and inspiring others, including as catalyst of innovation and generation of new strategic IP assets in PMI MTB. Support in the organization of IP Trainings to enhance the awareness to local PMI population, contributing to have them executed as per defined plan. Who we’re looking for University degree, preferably in the field of engineering 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in tobacco industry or in a multinational environment Excellent information technology skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SAP) Fluent in English and Italian both written and spoken.
