Job Description

The Warehouse Loader is responsible for transporting goods using a forklift, pallet-jack or other loading machine. This includes checking the quality and quantity of the loaded, unloaded and transported goods, signing the related documentation (CMR, bill of loading, packing lists or any kind of attached document). He/she instructs the truck driver if needed.

The Warehouse Loader takes care of the administrative handling of the documents, including signing by an authorized employee if needed. He/she takes care of the maintenance and cleaning of the forklift, keeping the workshop and loading station of the batteries clean and manages the warehouse stocks together with or in order of the DC Supervisor or Lead Ripener. The Warehouse Loader assists in any kind of services related to the in/outgoing or stored products.

The Warehouse Loader follows daily the instructions of the Lead Ripener but reports to the DC Manager.

Main Tasks:

• Daily movements of the loading/unloading goods
• Checking condition of the loading/unloading goods
• Assign ripening rooms for incoming/outgoing product according to the daily schedule
• Control of inventory on a daily basis on request
• Detect non-conformances and discuss with DC Supervisor/Lead Ripener and/or by absence/if needed with DC Manager
• Follow HACCP-values
• M&R of the forklift(s) including cleaning
• Controlling and keep the workshop clean
• Ensure quality evaluations of incoming and outgoing fruit are carried out and recorded per requirements and reports on unusual fruit, pallet or packaging appearance and/or behavior

Qualifications

• Secondary or High School diploma and/or Technical background
• Experience in driving, loading and unloading pallets of fruits (bananas or tropical fruits)
• Strong integrity and work ethic
• Ability to collaborate and work as a team across functions
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to interact at all levels of the organization, both of the customer and Chiquita

Languages : Italian and English. Other European languages will be considered a plus.

In posession of the VCA-certificte and forklift certificate.
