For our
Pisa based office We are looking for a
QHSE Officer. The candidate, reporting directly to the VP Global Operations and Manufacturing, will manage QHSE-related activities in the Pisa plant, as well as coordinating activities in the other Italian plants of Leica Geosystems and Hexagon Geosystems.
As QHSE Officer you will be in charge of the ISO management systems and their certification, dealing with internal and external audits, system non-conformities and improvements (also with a sustainable approach), but also in charge of the implementation of regulatory requirements, especially related to HSE standards.
What we want you to do: The duties and responsibilities of the position include the following:
Quality management system : - Manage ISO activities programs and planning, according to Corporate and Third Parts (certification bodies, authority) requirements and audits
- Support company procedures in accordance with legislation, technical standards and corporate standards
- Maintain documentation up-to-date
- Ensure that QHSE procedure are followed and up to date; provide support and improvements if necessary
- Plan and Manage internal audits and their outcomes, including non-conformities, improvement and changes
- Coordinate third-party audits from certifying bodies, taking part in the audit and monitoring their outcomes, including non-conformities, improvement and changes (including insurance and regulatory audit and assessment)
- Provide onboarding to QHSE procedures
- Organize and coordinate the Management review
- Monitoring on a monthly basis of QHSE system activities through internal checklists
Health and safety regulations and compliance: - Coordinate health and safety activities, including regulatory compliance with Dlgs 81/08 and applicable regulations
- Coordinate HSE requirements (DVR, risks assessments) also those entrusted to contractors/facility vendors (POS, DUVRI, Art 26 documentation) and possible change implementation;
- Plan the necessary HSE investigations, evaluations and emergency planning, define the resulting action plans and Support in drafting risk assessments
- Manage personnel medical surveillance
- Implement and monitor QHSE training programs
- Guarantee emergency plan implementation and training
- Organize and coordinate annual HSE meetings
Environmental regulations and compliance: - Plan the necessary HSE investigations, assessments and emergency plans, define the resulting action plans and Support in drafting risk assessments
- Provide internal training for employees and manage environmental communication initiatives;
- Manage waste disposal activities, ensuring compliance with regulation, preparing the necessary records and documentation in the Waste Registry
- Monitor deadlines of environmental regulations (for instance WEEE, ERP, CONAI, etc.) and submit the yearly report
- Implement the actions related to the Mobility manager: survey to gather information, prepare the PSCL (analysis of the mobility of the company), propose actions with local entities, send the PSCL to the municipality
- Evaluate new risks or activities or chemical substances (in coordination with Socip)
- Guarantee environmental emergency plan implementation and training
- Draft applicable documents when needed (i.e DNSH or documents from clients/tenders)
Sustainability: - Data gathering and monitoring on sustainability, including corporate footprint and consumption
- Training and information on sustainability
- Support on Life cycle assessment evaluation (including new packaging, substances or processes)
- Support in the monitoring of ESG in the procurement and supply chain
Internal/external relationships:
- Internally, the role works closely with all departments, supporting in process implementation and conducting internal audits on a periodic basis
- Externally, the role works with colleagues from Leica Geosystems and Hexagon Geosystems, external auditors, institutions and other official entities
Desired Skills
What would we like to see: - Prior experience in ISO management systems (9001 is mandatory)
- Proactive approach to the ISO systems implementation and management
- Previous experience in the management systems is a must
- Knowledge of 14001 and 45001 are considered a plus
- Knowledge of health and safety/environmental regulations are considered a plus
- A relevant Degree will be considered a plus
- Good use of the Office Suite
